A lot of people in the world struggle with financial literacy. It's foreign to the average person to truly know how to manage personal finances, save for retirement or even have knowledge in debt reduction/
By thoroughly reading on financial literacy and actually practice you can easily improve your knowledge on the subject and live freely.
Below are the three ways that can help you improve your financial literacy:

1. Take a financial literacy course
Whether a course is given for free at school by a student organization, Student Experience or locally you can always brush up on your financial literacy knowledge by taking a course.
There are books at your local library or at Maag library that will go into extensive detail to help you.
If courses are offered in your area, search the Department of Education's website for help on the topic. Whether you think it is unattainable for whatever goal you may have, you are wrong. Believe in yourself.
2. Truly understand the subject matter
Have you ever read a page of information and by the time you get to the end you have no idea what you just read? Don't let that happen to you with financial literacy.
To fully benefit from financial literacy is to understand the ins and out. You will need to know the budgeting basics, the risks involved, interest and all the above.
Besides the Dept. of Education, the U.S. Treasury has online sources that go into detail. Also FAQ's which will help you even more.
3. Be ready to start now
Reading on financial literacy and understanding it is only 2/3 of the battle. You have to be ready to make a change now. Reading but not applying the knowledge is a waste pf time.
In college, financial matters can get out of whack frequently. It could seem as if everything bad happens while you're in college, it seems like the end of the world sometimes when it may just be a slight inconvenience.
Be ready to call the rainy days the past and move on to a brighter future.
